Meet Safari Meats

WRITTEN BY CHRIS RILEY

As summer is coming to a close, there’s only one guaranteed way to make it special: FIRE UP THE GRILL! Because nothing’s better than enjoying a day of tasty aromas and equally tasty meat. However, it isn’t just the food preparation and actual cooking that make grilling special. In reality, what really makes it special is the opportunity to be social and enjoy great food with great people. Not to mention it’s a great excuse to be outside.

Grilling has and will always be a reason for darn good eating. And it’s the togetherness we all feel that take those meals to the next level. That’s why it’s timeless and a standard for what to do during the summer.

A FAMILY STANDARD

Safari Meats started on a farm in 1976 and has been killing it ever since with pasteurized chicken, turkey, beef and lamb. Max Doggett, the president and founder, wanted to create products that contributed to a healthy lifestyle for him and his family. He held a standard of eating high-quality, real food ingredients during family meals and it’s those values that continue to make their products great. He also believed healthy was attainable without losing flavor.

Max and his family know the sacrifices and hard work they have all made to launch Safari Meats into a tangible product has been a family affair and hopefully, one day a multi-generational business. And it’s these same optimisms that kept him passionate about his products throughout the process of developing the brand. He understands failure comes from never trying. And he refuses to fail.

“When you’re trying you are going to fail, you have to make your goals and dreams so big that not accomplishing them is not an option.”
— Max Doggett

Safari Meats is committed to not only giving their customers healthy, nutrient dense meals, but also pure satisfaction and good ol’ family tradition. They believe in leading by example and giving back to their communities while offering their customers a taste of nostalgia. And that’s what makes them the world’s finest sausage. Because for them, taste is not enough. It’s only one of the special ingredients.

MEET THE MEATS

The quality of Safari Meats is what has helped it stay in the game so long. Currently, the product line consists of KICK’N CHICKEN Bratwurst Links, KICK’N CHICKEN Breakfast Links, and KICK’N CHICKEN Diced Chicken Sausage. All of which are made with the highest quality antibiotic-free chicken, and natural ingredients. They’re also free from pork, msg, gluten and fillers!

Their products are full of flavor and can even be eaten right out of the package, but if you find yourself lacking inspiration they also offer a section on their site with tasty recipes to try out. Like their KICK’N Chicken Sausage & Mushroom Penne, Kick’n Chicken Sausage, Lobster, Shrimp & Grits Breakfast Bowls, Oregano Lemon KICK’N Chicken Sausage & Potatoes, and more.

So whether you’re looking for a hearty breakfast or dinner with a creative spin, Safari Meats has the flavor to take any meal to the next level. Want to try it for yourself? Stop by Woodward Corner Market and grab one of each and see what culinary excellence you can achieve.

For some great recipe ideas for Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner. Go to our website and select the Recipe drop-down -https://safarimeats1976.com

You can pair Safari Kick’n Chicken with its savory spicy taste with a nice beer, Chablis, Chardonnay, Cabernet, and my favorite sparkling water fused with fruit.

PUT IT ON THE GRILL

When it comes to grilling our Bratwurst links or any of our other products. Remember! They are already fully cooked, and you don’t want to overcook them. I grill them with direct heat until they are brown but not burnt as some are in a traditional hotdog or sausage. You can move them to the cool side of the grill to keep them warm or if you are preparing other items on the grill at the same time. You can cook them with indirect heat and finish them off with direct heat to brown them prior to serving.

The Woodward Corner Market team has been and continues to be extremely supportive in all aspects of assisting us in introducing Safari Meats KICK’N Chicken Sausage to their customers, and because of the success we have had there. It became the launching point for Safari Meat’s introduction into additional Meijer locations.
